sallamo alikum all members:
i want to sahre this event with all of u, the musculoskeletal journal club.
dr aliaa rayhan is working on musculoskeletal group called musculoskeletal journal club, this group is an open group, she had delgated me to send this invitation to all who interested in musculoskeletal topics from internship students to faculty.
-General Instructions:
We will have a weekly JC meeting approximately every one to two months. The idea of the JC is to help our group members to be update with the new literature or important key papers in the research topics of interest. Briefly we have two types of JC meetings: an individual article presentation and a group of abstracts presentation.
(1)Individual article presentation:
Pick an article of interest (published within the last two years), prepare a 30 minutes presentation (Maximum!! If it is shorter than 30 minutes, we are happy to have a few minutes saved). Before the presentation, Plz send the article to the JC members (physio_jc@gmail.com). Present the article focusing on the methods, results and discussion section. Be ready to discuss the article with the audience in a friendly safe environment for another 20 minutes or so
(2)Abstracts presentation:
1. Pick as many journals as you find convenient to yourself (see page 3-5 of this file). You can use the attached list of journals as a guide for your selection. If you are interested in a journal that is not listed, feel free to let me know so we can add it to our list.
2. Search for article that is of possible interest to some of our group members. This means that the articles might not be of your own interest or research topic, but still it covers a topic that might be interesting to others (for suggested topics, please see attached file ). We are primarily interested in the biomechanics, pathogensis and rehabilitation of the musculoskeletal system on all structural levels.
3. Usually we search for new articles (within the past two years). If you find a very interesting old article (that you think it might be of great benefit to other group members), please don’t hesitate to share it with us!!
4. Please try to read the article(s) you select carefully. Be prepared to present it in 30seconds with a title, authors and journal and a few key sentences about the results and findings. 30s max per article.
5. In the meeting, other members of our group will let you know if they are interested in your article(s). Please email them an electronic copy after the meeting.
And that is it!!! If you have any further questions or you need more clarification, please feel free to email at Physio.JC@gmail.com or see me (dr aliaa).
